Management Institute Inc. known as (AMI) was established in London, Ontario, Canada as a specialized IT Architecture company focused on three key areas: Consulting Services, Training and Certifications, Research and Publications.

AMI advocates the importance of the IT Architecture discipline as an important and integral part of IT project delivery methodology. AMI established the AMBOK® Guide and supporting services such consulting and training to assist clients in the understanding of and adherence to the IT architecture processes, models, and frameworks.

Training & Certification

AMI Training Program

This exciting and dynamic 3-day IT architecture training course introduces learners to IT architecture definitions, types, processes, guidelines and frameworks. The course focuses on the IT architect role and how it contributes to the success of delivering IT projects. A comprehensive skills and competency framework is discussed to help learners determine architect career levels, architect specializations, education requirements and how to map a career development plan for IT architect role advancements.

The IT Architecture Management Life Cycle (AMLC) methodology will be discussed in detail to cover the 5 process groups and associated sub-processes of IT Architecture.

AMI Certification Program

AMI’s objective from the certification programs is to create a foundation for individuals that want to pursue the field of IT architecture as a career using AMI’s management approach. This will help standardize on how IT architecture is managed, implemented and staffed globally.

The ITAM-A™ certificate is intended for recipients who are interested in the IT architecture profession that may or may not have IT architecture work experience. This certification gives individuals the foundational knowledge needed to plan for career transition into the role

The ITAM-M™ certificate is intended for recipients who are currently in management roles and are interested in managing or integrating with the IT architecture profession. This certification gives individuals the foundational knowledge to establish and grow the role within their own team or department

The ITAM-P™ certificate is intended for recipients who are professional IT architects with work experience implementing architecture skills and expertise on IT projects of various sizes and complexities.

The AMBOK® Guide

The Architecture Management Body of Knowledge (AMBOK® Guide) for information technology is a reference guide that is taking a management approach to IT architecture to include definitions, processes, guidelines and frameworks that are generally accepted as best practice for IT architects. Organizations and IT staff can use the guide as a reference to help establish a consistent understanding and implementation of IT architecture. The guide takes an abstract view of IT architecture to define common processes, map out the different types of architecture, and highlight the importance of acquiring the right skills for IT architects. Furthermore, the guide includes detailed skills and competency frameworks, map out the different architect career levels and specializations. The guide will help managers map a career development plans for IT architects.
